Hours of Work

Monday-Friday 8.30am-5pm with ½ hour lunch break

Requirement to be flexible according to company needs.

Scope of the post

To provide a high-quality service to customers through the installation and maintenance of fire safety and security systems/equipment

Duties and Responsibilities

Completion of works as directed by office staff, supervising engineer or Directors

Completion of correct paperwork to be submitted to clients

Passing electronic paperwork on completion of works to office for invoice processing

Ensuring that clients are aware of the works being carried out when operating on their sites

Ensuring the engineering manager/office staff are updated as to the position of works being     undertaken

Ensuring that all equipment is kept safe and clear of all possibilities of damage or theft including from vehicles

Control of on-site Health and Safety including compliance to Company method statements and risk assessments

Carrying out works required by the Company in a manner not to jeopardise the Company reputation or put clients/staff in danger

Maintaining customer confidence by keeping Company information confidential

Undertaking installation/maintenance works as required Providing enough information to allow a quotation to be raised for any additional works resulting from maintenance or call-out visits within two days for non-urgent works and immediately for urgent works

Completion of appropriate forms – timesheets; annual leave; training records etc

On-call as part of an agreed rota

Supporting the engineering manager/senior engineer on a day-to-day basis with operational issues

Employees are expected to contribute generally to the work of Bell Lancaster Limited, undertaking such other tasks as are appropriate to the nature and scope of the post. Employees are expected to attend work on a regular basis and undertake relevant training

Relevant electrical/electronic/mechanical qualifications

Experience of installation/maintenance works of electrical/electronic systems

Experience of installation/maintenance of mechanical/passive fire protection systems

Work within the fire/health and safety field


Use of IT

Effective verbal/written communication skills

Ability to work under pressure/meet deadlines

Ability to produce clear records/complete job sheets

Ability to fault find on fire safety/security systems

An understanding of the business and its operating systems
